Sentence Patterns HSK2
比 bi3 means "than". The order is A + 比 + B + adjective: 他比我高 (he is taller than me). There is no word for "more" before the adjective.

他比我高 (he is taller than me). 今天比昨天冷 (today is colder than yesterday). The adjective ends the comparison; 很 is not used after 比.
他比我高 (वह मुझसे लम्बा है)। 今天比昨天冷 (आज कल से ठंडा है)। विशेषण तुलना समाप्त करता है; 比 के बाद 很 नहीं आता।
A 比 B + adjective. To show a small or large gap, add 一点儿 or 得多: 他比我高一点儿 (a little taller), 他比我高得多 (much taller).
A 比 B + विशेषण। थोड़ा या बड़ा अंतर दिखाने के लिए 一点儿 या 得多 जोड़िए: 他比我高一点儿 (ज़रा लम्बा), 他比我高得多 (बहुत लम्बा)।
这本书比那本书新。 This book is newer than that one. 我比他忙。 I am busier than him. 北京比我家冷。 Beijing is colder than my home.
这本书比那本书新। यह पुस्तक उससे नई है। 我比他忙। मैं उससे अधिक व्यस्त हूँ। 北京比我家冷। बीजिंग मेरे घर से ठंडा है।
Learners write 他比我很高. 很 must not appear after 比; if you want intensity, use 得多: 他比我高得多.
शिक्षार्थी 他比我很高 लिखते हैं। 比 के बाद 很 नहीं आता; अधिकता चाहिए तो 得多 लगाइए: 他比我高得多।
HSK 2 tests 比 with an adjective in the blank. The right answer is only an adjective, never an adjective preceded by 很.
HSK 2 रिक्त स्थान में 比 के साथ विशेषण पूछता है। सही उत्तर केवल विशेषण है, उससे पहले 很 वाला रूप नहीं।
