并 before a negative says the fact is contrary to what someone expected. 我并不认识他 means not just that I do not know him, but that the other person was wrong to think I did.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
并 + 不/没有 + verb stresses that the truth is the opposite of an expectation. 我并没有说过这句话。 他并不笨，只是不用功。 Plain 不 simply denies; 并不 denies what was assumed.
并 + 不/没有 + क्रिया इस बात पर ज़ोर देता है कि सच्चाई अपेक्षा के उलट है। 我并没有说过这句话। 他并不笨，只是不用功। साधारण 不 केवल नकारता है; 并不 उस बात को नकारता है जो मान ली गई थी।
我并不想去。 他并没有迟到。 这件事并没有那么简单。 我并不反对，只是有些担心。 In each one the speaker corrects what the listener may believe.

When someone assumes something wrong, 并 is the natural reply: 我并没有生气。 情况并没有那么糟。 It is polite and firm at once, which is why it suits both conversation and written argument.
जब कोई ग़लत बात मान ले, तो 并 स्वाभाविक उत्तर है: 我并没有生气। 情况并没有那么糟। यह विनम्र भी है और दृढ़ भी, इसलिए बातचीत और लिखित तर्क दोनों में फिट बैठता है।
并 cannot stand before a plain positive verb: 并知道 is wrong; the emphatic use needs 不 or 没有. Another common slip is reading 并 only as the word and and missing this negative job entirely.
并 सीधे साधारण सकारात्मक क्रिया से पहले नहीं आता: 并知道 ग़लत है; ज़ोर देने वाले प्रयोग में 不 या 没有 आवश्यक है। दूसरी सामान्य चूक यह है कि 并 को केवल और के अर्थ में पढ़कर इस निषेध-काम को छोड़ देना।
Before using 并, ask what the other person expected. If your sentence corrects that expectation, 并 fits. If there is no expectation to correct, use plain 不 or 没有.
并 लगाने से पहले सोचिए कि दूसरे ने क्या अपेक्षा की थी। यदि आपका वाक्य उस अपेक्षा को सुधारता है, तो 并 उपयुक्त है। यदि सुधारने के लिए कोई अपेक्षा नहीं है, तो साधारण 不 या 没有 लगाइए।
HSK 5 listening and reading use 并 to test the speaker tone. The sentence with 并不 often carries mild protest, so an attitude question can turn on this one word.
HSK 5 श्रवण और पठन वक्ता के लहजे को जाँचने के लिए 并 का प्रयोग करते हैं। 并不 वाला वाक्य प्रायः हल्का विरोध लिए होता है, इसलिए लहजे का प्रश्न इसी एक शब्द पर टिक सकता है।
