并且 joins two clauses or verb phrases and adds a further point. It is more formal than 而且 and often follows 不但 in the pair 不但…并且.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
并且 connects two predicates that share the same subject and adds information: 他会说汉语，并且说得很好。 He can speak Chinese, and he speaks it well. In the pair 不但…并且, 不但 gives the first point and 并且 adds a stronger second point: 他不但会写汉字，并且写得漂亮。
并且 एक ही कर्ता वाले दो विधेयों को जोड़कर जानकारी बढ़ाता है: 他会说汉语，并且说得很好। वह चीनी बोल सकता है, और अच्छा बोलता है। 不但…并且 युग्म में 不但 पहली बात देता है और 并且 उससे बढ़कर दूसरी बात जोड़ता है: 他不但会写汉字，并且写得漂亮।
这个方案价格低，并且质量好。 This plan is cheap, and the quality is good. 她喜欢音乐，并且会弹钢琴。 She likes music, and she can play the piano. 他工作认真，并且愿意帮助别人。 He works carefully, and he is willing to help others.
这个方案价格低，并且质量好। यह योजना सस्ती है, और गुणवत्ता अच्छी है। 她喜欢音乐，并且会弹钢琴। उसे संगीत पसंद है, और वह पियानो बजा सकती है। 他工作认真，并且愿意帮助别人। वह मन लगाकर काम करता है, और दूसरों की मदद करना चाहता है।
并且 is common in reports, resumes and news, where two facts about one subject are listed: 公司业绩提高，并且成本下降。 The company performance rose, and costs fell. In speech 而且 sounds more natural.
रिपोर्ट, बायोडाटा और समाचार में 并且 आम है, जहाँ एक ही विषय के दो तथ्य गिनाए जाते हैं: 公司业绩提高，并且成本下降। कंपनी का प्रदर्शन बढ़ा, और लागत घटी। बोलचाल में 而且 अधिक स्वाभाविक लगता है।
Do not use 并且 for a contrast: 他病了，并且还去上班 is confusing; use 但是他还是去上班。 Do not join two different subjects with 并且; repeat the subject instead. Do not put 并且 at the end of a sentence.
विरोध के लिए 并且 का प्रयोग न करें: 他病了，并且还去上班 भ्रमित करता है; 但是他还是去上班 कहें। दो भिन्न कर्ताओं को 并且 से न जोड़ें; कर्ता दोहराएँ। 并且 को वाक्य के अंत में न रखें।
Use 并且 in writing and 而且 in conversation. Check that both halves have the same subject; if not, start a new sentence. 不但…并且 needs the second half to be stronger.
लेखन में 并且 और बातचीत में 而且 का प्रयोग करें। देखें कि दोनों भागों का कर्ता एक ही है; यदि नहीं, तो नया वाक्य शुरू करें। 不但…并且 में दूसरा भाग अधिक प्रबल होना चाहिए।
HSK 4 reading may test 不但…并且. The question usually asks which two facts are true, and the answer repeats both halves of the pair.
HSK 4 पठन में 不但…并且 पर प्रश्न आ सकता है। प्रश्न आमतौर पर पूछता है कि कौन से दो तथ्य सत्य हैं, और उत्तर युग्म के दोनों भाग दोहराता है।
