Sentence Patterns HSK5
反之 presents the opposite case of the one just described. It works like a mirror: the first clause gives one side, 反之 gives the other side of the same rule.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
Clause A，反之 clause B. 努力就会进步，反之就会退步。 The two clauses describe the two outcomes of one condition, so they must be exact opposites.
उपवाक्य अ，反之 उपवाक्य ब। 努力就会进步，反之就会退步। दोनों उपवाक्य एक ही शर्त के दो परिणाम बताते हैं, इसलिए उन्हें ठीक उलटा होना चाहिए।
你帮助别人，别人也会帮助你，反之亦然。 多读书眼界就宽，反之就会变得狭窄。 关系处得好，工作就顺利，反之到处是麻烦。 反之亦然 means and the reverse is also true.
你帮助别人，别人也会帮助你，反之亦然। आप दूसरों की मदद करते हैं, तो वे भी आपकी करते हैं, और इसका उलटा भी सच है। 多读书眼界就宽，反之就会变得狭窄। अधिक पढ़ने से दृष्टि विस्तृत होती है, उलटा होने पर संकीर्ण। 关系处得好，工作就顺利，反之到处是麻烦। संबंध अच्छे हों तो काम सुचारु, उलटा होने पर हर जगह परेशानी। 反之亦然 का अर्थ है कि उलटी बात भी सच है।
反之 is common in essays and reports: 控制好成本，利润就能提高，反之公司会面临亏损。 It is more formal than 相反 and usually joins two balanced clauses of similar length.
反之 निबंध और रिपोर्ट में आम है: 控制好成本，利润就能提高，反之公司会面临亏损। यह 相反 से अधिक औपचारिक है और प्रायः समान लंबाई के दो संतुलित उपवाक्य जोड़ता है।
Learners use 反之 wherever they mean but, yet it needs a true opposite case, not any contrast. 他很努力，反之运气不好 is wrong. If the second clause is a new fact rather than the reverse, use 但是 or 不过.
शिक्षार्थी हर विरोध के लिए 反之 लगा देते हैं, पर इसे सच्चा उलटा पक्ष चाहिए, कोई भी विरोध नहीं। 他很努力，反之运气不好 ग़लत है। यदि दूसरा उपवाक्य उलटा नहीं, नया तथ्य है, तो 但是 या 不过 लगाइए।
Before writing, check whether the two clauses are the two sides of one rule. If clause B is simply different, not opposite, drop 反之. Add 亦然 only when you mean that the reverse also holds.
लिखने से पहले देखिए कि दोनों उपवाक्य एक ही नियम के दो पक्ष हैं या नहीं। यदि उपवाक्य ब केवल भिन्न है, उलटा नहीं, तो 反之 हटाइए। 亦然 तभी जोड़िए जब आप यह कहना चाहें कि उलटी बात भी सच है।
HSK 5 reading uses 反之 to join two outcomes of one cause. A detail question may ask for the second outcome, so read the clause after 反之 as a whole rather than a single word.
HSK 5 पठन एक कारण के दो परिणाम जोड़ने के लिए 反之 का प्रयोग करता है। विवरण का प्रश्न दूसरा परिणाम पूछ सकता है, इसलिए 反之 के बाद वाले उपवाक्य को एक शब्द नहीं, पूरा पढ़िए।
Q1. 把 “If you work hard you will improve; conversely, you will fall behind.” 译成汉语。
“If you work hard you will improve; conversely, you will fall behind.” का चीनी में अनुवाद कीजिए।
Answer: 努力就会进步，反之就会退步
💡 反之 译出 conversely 所表的相反情况。

💡 反之亦然 表示反过来也一样。
Q3. “他很努力，反之运气不好。” 是通顺的句子。
“他很努力，反之运气不好।” सही वाक्य है, यह सही है या ग़लत?
Answer: ग़लत
💡 运气不好 不是 很努力 的反面，不能用 反之。
