The HSK 4 reading paper rewards method more than vocabulary. Skim for the topic, scan for the key word, and answer from the sentence that contains it.

Read the question before the passage. You then scan the text for the one key word, such as a name, a time or a place. This turns a long paragraph into a single line to read closely.
गद्यांश से पहले प्रश्न पढ़िए। फिर पाठ में एक मुख्य शब्द, जैसे नाम, समय या स्थान, खोजिए। इससे लम्बा अनुच्छेद एक पंक्ति में बदल जाता है जिसे ध्यान से पढ़ना है।
Question: 会议几点开始？ Scan the text for 点 and read 会议上午九点开始, so the answer is 九点. Question: 他在哪儿买书？ Scan for 买 and read 他在书店买书, so the answer is 书店.

Reading the whole passage word by word uses up the time and still leaves the answer unfound. Skim first for the topic, then scan for the key word; slow reading is saved only for the deciding sentence.
पूरा गद्यांश शब्द-दर-शब्द पढ़ने में समय बीत जाता है और उत्तर फिर भी नहीं मिलता। पहले विषय के लिए सरसरी दृष्टि डालिए, फिर मुख्य शब्द खोजिए; धीमा पठन केवल निर्णायक वाक्य के लिए बचाइए।
If one passage resists you, mark it and move on. Finish the easier passages first, then return with the remaining time. A stuck reader loses marks that were already within reach.
यदि कोई गद्यांश कठिन लगे, तो उसे चिह्नित करके आगे बढ़िए। पहले आसान गद्यांश पूरे कीजिए, फिर शेष समय में लौटिए। अटका पाठक वे अंक खो देता है जो पहुँच में थे।
HSK 4 reading is timed and has several parts. Give each part a share of the clock and keep to it; a good pace protects the marks you can already earn.
