连…都/也… picks an extreme example and says that even this example is included. It is one of the clearest ways to show surprise or emphasis in Mandarin.

连…都/也… picks one extreme example and says that even this example is included. 他连早饭都没吃。 He did not even eat breakfast. The element after 连 is the surprising one; 都 or 也 comes before the verb.
连…都/也… एक चरम उदाहरण चुनकर कहता है कि वह भी शामिल है। 他连早饭都没吃। उसने नाश्ता तक नहीं किया। 连 के बाद वाला तत्व आश्चर्यजनक है; 都 या 也 क्रिया से पहले आता है।
连 + emphasized element + 都/也 + verb phrase. 这道题连老师都不会。 Even the teacher cannot do this question. 都 and 也 are both correct here; 都 is more common in speech.
连 + ज़ोर देने वाला तत्व + 都/也 + क्रिया वाक्यांश। 这道题连老师都不会। यह प्रश्न अध्यापक तक नहीं कर सकते। यहाँ 都 और 也 दोनों सही हैं; बोलचाल में 都 अधिक सामान्य है।
我连他的名字都忘了。 I even forgot his name. 连小孩都知道这个道理。 Even a child knows this principle. 他连一句谢谢也没说。 He did not even say one word of thanks. 她连周末都在工作。 She works even on weekends.
我连他的名字都忘了। मैं उसका नाम तक भूल गया। 连小孩都知道这个道理। बच्चा तक यह बात जानता है। 他连一句谢谢也没说। उसने धन्यवाद तक नहीं कहा। 她连周末都在工作। वह सप्ताहांत में भी काम करती है।
Do not leave out 都 or 也: 我连他的名字忘了 is incomplete. Do not put 连 after the verb. The 连 phrase stands before 都/也 and before the verb, and the surprising element goes directly after 连.
都 या 也 न छोड़िए: 我连他的名字忘了 अधूरा है। 连 को क्रिया के बाद न रखिए। 连 वाला वाक्यांश 都/也 से पहले और क्रिया से पहले आता है, और आश्चर्यजनक तत्व सीधे 连 के बाद।
Find the most surprising item in the sentence, put 连 before it, and keep 都 or 也 before the verb. If the sentence still sounds like an ordinary statement, the 连 phrase is probably in the wrong place.
वाक्य की सबसे आश्चर्यजनक चीज़ ढूँढिए, उससे पहले 连 रखिए, और क्रिया से पहले 都 या 也 रखिए। यदि वाक्य फिर भी साधारण कथन जैसा लगे, तो 连 वाला वाक्यांश संभवतः ग़लत स्थान पर है।
HSK 4 listening and reading use 连…都/也 to show surprise or emphasis. The answer often depends on what is described as extreme, so listen for the words directly after 连.
