Politeness in Mandarin is a small set of fixed frames. 您, 请, 麻烦, 劳驾, 请教 and 拜访 show consideration, while 贵姓, 高见, 大作 and 光临 raise the other person and humble words lower the speaker.

Politeness is built from 您, 请, 麻烦, 劳驾, 请教 and 拜访. Honorifics raise the other person: 贵姓, 高见, 大作, 光临. Humble words lower the speaker: 敝公司, 拙见.
विनम्रता 您, 请, 麻烦, 劳驾, 请教 और 拜访 से बनती है। आदरसूचक शब्द सामने वाले को ऊँचा उठाते हैं: 贵姓, 高见, 大作, 光临। विनम्र शब्द वक्ता को नीचे रखते हैं: 敝公司, 拙见।
请问 + question; 麻烦您 + verb; 能否 + verb; 敬请您 + verb. 请问 opens a request, 麻烦您 acknowledges the trouble, and 能否 gives the listener a choice.
请问 + प्रश्न; 麻烦您 + क्रिया; 能否 + क्रिया; 敬请您 + क्रिया। 请问 अनुरोध शुरू करता है, 麻烦您 कष्ट स्वीकार करता है और 能否 सुनने वाले को विकल्प देता है।

Service counters, emails to teachers and formal meetings rely on these forms. A request with 请 and 麻烦 sounds warm; the same request with a bare verb sounds like an order.
सेवा केंद्र, शिक्षकों को ईमेल और औपचारिक बैठकें इन्हीं रूपों पर टिकी हैं। 请 और 麻烦 के साथ अनुरोध गर्मजोशी लगता है; बिना इनके वही अनुरोध आदेश जैसा लगता है।
Do not use 贵姓 about yourself: 我贵姓王 is wrong, say 我姓王. Do not add 们 to 您; address a group as 您几位 or 大家. Do not stack 请 and 麻烦 in every sentence.
अपने बारे में 贵姓 का प्रयोग न कीजिए: 我贵姓王 गलत है, 我姓王 कहिए। 您 के साथ 们 न जोड़िए; समूह को 您几位 या 大家 कहिए। हर वाक्य में 请 और 麻烦 न ठूँसिए।
HSK 5 listening often tests the relation between speakers through 您, 请教 and 光临. The honorific tells you who is serving whom, which is often the answer.
