Sentence Patterns HSK6
力争 means to strive for or fight to achieve. It carries determination and often appears with a clear goal, a deadline or a competition. It is stronger than 努力 and more focused than 尽量, which means as much as possible.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
The frame is 力争 + verb phrase or noun goal. The goal can be a result (力争完成) or a prize (力争冠军). Time and place phrases usually come before 力争. The word is formal and energetic, common in plans, reports and sports news.
ढाँचा है 力争 + क्रिया-वाक्यांश या संज्ञा-लक्ष्य। लक्ष्य परिणाम हो सकता है (力争完成) या पुरस्कार (力争冠军)। समय और स्थान वाले वाक्यांश प्रायः 力争 से पहले आते हैं। यह शब्द औपचारिक और ऊर्जावान है, योजनाओं, रिपोर्टों और खेल-समाचारों में आम।
我们必须力争在今年完成项目。 队员们力争冠军。 公司力争在年底前扭亏为盈。 大家力争把损失降到最低。 他在会上力争自己的方案。 Each sentence names a goal that requires a strong effort.
我们必须力争在今年完成项目। हमें इस वर्ष परियोजना पूरी करने का दृढ़ प्रयास करना चाहिए। 队员们力争冠军। खिलाड़ी चैंपियनशिप के लिए दृढ़ प्रयास कर रहे हैं। 公司力争在年底前扭亏为盈। कंपनी वर्ष के अंत से पहले घाटे को लाभ में बदलने का प्रयास कर रही है। 大家力争把损失降到最低। सभी हानि को न्यूनतम करने का दृढ़ प्रयास कर रहे हैं। 他在会上力争自己的方案। उसने बैठक में अपनी योजना के लिए ज़ोरदार पैरवी की। हर वाक्य ऐसा लक्ष्य बताता है जिसके लिए कड़ा प्रयास चाहिए।
Work plans use 力争 for targets, sports reports use it for titles, and economic news uses it for growth or recovery goals. In casual talk 努力争取 or 尽量 is more natural, so 力争 signals a formal and determined register.
कार्य-योजनाओं में 力争 लक्ष्यों के लिए, खेल-रिपोर्टों में खिताब के लिए, और आर्थिक समाचारों में वृद्धि या सुधार के लक्ष्यों के लिए आता है। सामान्य बातचीत में 努力争取 या 尽量 अधिक स्वाभाविक है, इसलिए 力争 औपचारिक और दृढ़ शैली का संकेत देता है।
Learners confuse 力争 with 尽量. 尽量 means as much as possible and describes degree, while 力争 means strive for and needs a goal. 我力争早点睡 sounds odd because sleep time is not a competitive goal. Do not use 力争 for a small personal preference.

Before using 力争, name the goal and the obstacle in front of it. If there is a deadline, a rival or a measurable target, 力争 fits. Replace it with 努力争取 to test the sentence; if the sentence becomes weaker but still correct, the original use was probably right.
力争 प्रयोग करने से पहले लक्ष्य और उसके सामने की बाधा को नाम दीजिए। यदि समय-सीमा, प्रतिद्वंद्वी या मापने योग्य लक्ष्य हो, तो 力争 ठीक है। वाक्य जाँचने के लिए उसके स्थान पर 努力争取 रखिए; यदि वाक्य कमज़ोर पर सही रहे, तो मूल प्रयोग प्रायः उचित था।
HSK 6 reading may ask about the attitude behind 力争. The answer is determination and active effort, not mere willingness. In cloze, 力争 competes with 尽量, 争取 and 力克; choose it when a clear target is being fought for, especially in plans and reports.
