Words & Measure Words HSK1
A time word goes before the verb, never at the end of the sentence. Dates run from big to small: year, then month, then day, then the time of day.
Words & Measure Words — Everyday vocabulary and the measure word (量词) every noun takes.
我今天去 (I go today), not 我去今天. The block order is 主语 + 时间 + 动词: 他明天来 (he comes tomorrow), 我们下午上课 (we have class in the afternoon).
我今天去 (मैं आज जाता हूँ), 我去今天 नहीं। क्रम है 主语 + 时间 + 动词: 他明天来 (वह कल आता है), 我们下午上课 (हम अपराह्न कक्षा करते हैं)।
Dates are read 年、月、日: 二零二五年十月十九号 is 19 October 2025. The clock time comes last: 今天上午八点 at eight this morning.
तारीख़ 年、月、日 क्रम में पढ़ी जाती है: 二零二五年十月十九号 यानी 19 अक्टूबर 2025। घड़ी का समय सबसे अंत में: 今天上午八点 आज सुबह आठ बजे।
In English "I go to China tomorrow" puts time last. Mandarin must not: 我明天去中国. Placing the time after the verb is one of the most common HSK 1 errors.
अंग्रेज़ी में "I go to China tomorrow" में समय अंत में आता है। मंदारिन में ऐसा नहीं: 我明天去中国। क्रिया के बाद समय रखना HSK 1 की सबसे सामान्य ग़लतियों में से है।
When in doubt, put the time first: 今天我们不上课。 Today we have no class. This order is always safe in HSK 1.
संदेह हो तो समय पहले रखिए: 今天我们不上课। आज हमारी कक्षा नहीं है। HSK 1 में यह क्रम सदा सुरक्षित है।
HSK reading gives a short notice with a day and a time and asks what it says. Read the time block first; it usually identifies the answer.
HSK पठन में दिन और समय वाली छोटी सूचना दी जाती है और पूछा जाता है कि उसमें क्या लिखा है। पहले समय-भाग पढ़िए; सामान्यतः वही उत्तर तय करता है।
