虽然 admits a fact and 但是 introduces the contrast, so the sentence says although..., still....

虽然 + admitted fact, 但是 + contrast: 虽然天气很冷，但是他还是去跑步了。 The second half often contains 还是 or 仍然.
虽然 + स्वीकार्य तथ्य, 但是 + विरोध: 虽然天气很冷，但是他还是去跑步了। दूसरे भाग में प्रायः 还是 या 仍然 आता है।
虽然很累，但是他很高兴。 虽然这本书很贵，但是很有用。 虽然下雨，但是我们还是出发了。 虽然他是新来的，但是工作很认真。

Praise effort despite difficulty: 虽然很难，但是我没有放弃。 虽然路远，但是风景很美。
कठिनाई के बावजूद प्रयास की प्रशंसा कीजिए: 虽然很难，但是我没有放弃। 虽然路远，但是风景很美।
Never pair 虽然 with 所以: 虽然很累，所以他很高兴 is wrong. Use 但是 or 可是. Do not use 因为 in the first half when the second half contrasts.
虽然 के साथ 所以 न लगाइए: 虽然很累，所以他很高兴 ग़लत है। 但是 या 可是 लगाइए। जब दूसरा भाग विरोध दिखाए तो पहले भाग में 因为 न आए।
Ask whether the second half agrees or disagrees with the first. Disagreement with a conceded fact means 虽然...但是; cause and result means 因为...所以.
पूछिए कि दूसरा भाग पहले से सहमत है या विरोध करता है। स्वीकार्य तथ्य का विरोध 虽然...但是 है; कारण-परिणाम 因为...所以 है।
HSK 3 reading tests the pair in a blank. If the first half is a fact the speaker accepts and the second half says still, choose 虽然 and 但是.
HSK 3 पठन में रिक्त स्थान में यह जोड़ी पूछी जाती है। यदि पहला भाग स्वीकार्य तथ्य है और दूसरा "फिर भी" कहता है, तो 虽然 और 但是 चुनिए।
