Meaning part plus sound part

In 妈 the left part 女 (woman) gives the meaning and the right part 马 ma gives the sound. In 河 (river) the water radical 氵 gives the meaning and 可 ke gives the sound.

妈 में बायाँ भाग 女 (स्त्री) अर्थ देता है और दायाँ भाग 马 ma ध्वनि। 河 (नदी) में जल-मूल 氵 अर्थ देता है और 可 ke ध्वनि।

Radical and sound together

清 qing (clear) has 氵 water; 请 qing (please) has 讠 speech; 情 qing (feeling) has 忄 heart; 晴 qing (sunny) has 日 sun. All sound like qing; the radical decides the meaning.

清 qing (स्वच्छ) में 氵 जल; 请 qing (कृपया) में 讠 वाणी; 情 qing (भावना) में 忄 हृदय; 晴 qing (धूप) में 日 सूर्य। सब qing जैसे सुनाई देते हैं; मूल अर्थ तय करता है।

Ignoring the radical

Learners read the sound part alone and confuse 请 qing with 清 qing. When two characters share a sound, only the radical tells them apart.

शिक्षार्थी केवल ध्वनि-भाग पढ़कर 请 qing और 清 qing में भ्रम करते हैं। जब दो अक्षरों की ध्वनि एक हो, तो केवल मूल ही उन्हें अलग करता है।

Group by radical

Write the water-radical characters you know in one column, the speech-radical ones in another. Seeing a family of characters together fixes both the shape and the meaning.
