Sentence Patterns HSK4
The pattern 又…又 joins two qualities or actions that are both true of the same subject at the same time. It is common with adjectives and short verb phrases and cannot describe a sequence of events.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
The frame is 又 + A + 又 + B. Both parts describe the same subject and are true together: 这个苹果又大又红。 The apple is both big and red. With verbs the meaning is does both: 她又会唱歌又会跳舞。 She can both sing and dance.
वाक्य का ढाँचा है 又 + A + 又 + B। दोनों भाग एक ही कर्ता के गुण बताते हैं जो एक साथ सत्य होते हैं: 这个苹果又大又红। यह सेब बड़ा भी है और लाल भी। क्रियाओं के साथ अर्थ होता है दोनों करता है: 她又会唱歌又会跳舞। वह गाना भी जानती है और नाचना भी।
这个房间又干净又明亮。 The room is both clean and bright. 妹妹又聪明又努力。 My younger sister is both clever and hard-working. 他做得又快又好。 He does it both fast and well. 周末我又想休息又想出去玩。 At the weekend I both want to rest and want to go out.
这个房间又干净又明亮। कमरा साफ भी है और उजला भी। 妹妹又聪明又努力। मेरी छोटी बहन चतुर भी है और मेहनती भी। 他做得又快又好। वह काम तेज़ भी करता है और अच्छा भी। 周末我又想休息又想出去玩। छुट्टी के दिन मैं आराम भी करना चाहता हूँ और बाहर घूमना भी।
Learners meet 又…又 when a text describes a person, a place or food: 这家饭馆又便宜又好吃。 This restaurant is both cheap and tasty. 那里的风景又美又安静。 The scenery there is both beautiful and quiet. Both halves usually use one or two syllables.
जब कोई पाठ किसी व्यक्ति, जगह या खाने का वर्णन करता है तो 又…又 मिलता है: 这家饭馆又便宜又好吃। यह भोजनालय सस्ता भी है और स्वादिष्ट भी। 那里的风景又美又安静। वहाँ का दृश्य सुंदर भी है और शांत भी। दोनों भागों में आमतौर पर एक या दो अक्षर होते हैं।
Do not use 又…又 for two actions that happen one after another: 他又吃饭又睡觉 is unnatural; say 他吃完饭就睡觉。 Do not add 很 inside the pattern: 他又很高又很瘦 is wrong; say 他又高又瘦。 Do not use it for contrasting qualities.
दो कार्य जो एक के बाद एक हों, उनके लिए 又…又 का प्रयोग न करें: 他又吃饭又睡觉 अस्वाभाविक है; 他吃完饭就睡觉 कहें। प्रतिरूप के भीतर 很 न जोड़ें: 他又很高又很瘦 गलत है; 他又高又瘦 कहें। परस्पर विरोधी गुणों के लिए इसका प्रयोग न करें।
Keep both halves short and parallel: 又大又红, 又干净又整齐. For a negative meaning use 既不…也不 instead: 他既不累也不饿。 He is neither tired nor hungry.
दोनों भागों को छोटा और समान रखें: 又大又红, 又干净又整齐। नकारात्मक अर्थ के लिए 既不…也不 का प्रयोग करें: 他既不累也不饿। वह न थका है न भूखा।
HSK 4 reading often describes a person or a place with 又…又 and then asks which two features are mentioned. Both halves of the pattern are the answer.
HSK 4 पठन अक्सर 又…又 के साथ किसी व्यक्ति या जगह का वर्णन करता है और पूछता है कि कौन सी दो विशेषताएँ बताई गई हैं। प्रतिरूप के दोनों भाग उत्तर होते हैं।
