Sentence Patterns HSK4
越来越 means "more and more" and comes before an adjective or a mental verb. It shows a change that keeps growing over time, not a fixed comparison.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
越来越 + adjective: 天气越来越热。 The weather is getting hotter and hotter. 越来越 + mental verb: 我越来越喜欢汉语。 I like Chinese more and more. The subject goes first.
越来越 + विशेषण: 天气越来越热। मौसम अधिक से अधिक गर्म हो रहा है। 越来越 + मनोवृत्ति क्रिया: 我越来越喜欢汉语। मुझे चीनी अधिक से अधिक पसंद आ रही है। कर्ता पहले आता है।
Subject + 越来越 + adjective / mental verb. 他的汉语越来越好。 His Chinese is getting better and better. It answers the question 怎么样了? (how is it going?) rather than 比谁? (compared with whom?).
कर्ता + 越来越 + विशेषण / मनोवृत्ति क्रिया। 他的汉语越来越好। उसकी चीनी अधिक से अधिक अच्छी हो रही है। यह 比谁? (किससे तुलना?) की जगह 怎么样了? (कैसा चल रहा है?) का उत्तर देता है।
天越来越黑了。 It is getting darker and darker. 人们越来越重视健康。 People value health more and more. 这个城市越来越现代化。 This city is getting more and more modern. 他越来越忙了。 He is getting busier and busier.
天越来越黑了। अंधेरा अधिक से अधिक बढ़ रहा है। 人们越来越重视健康। लोग स्वास्थ्य को अधिक से अधिक महत्व दे रहे हैं। 这个城市越来越现代化। यह शहर अधिक से अधिक आधुनिक हो रहा है। 他越来越忙了। वह अधिक से अधिक व्यस्त हो रहा है।
Learners write 他比我越来越高, mixing 比 and 越来越. Use one or the other: 他比我高 (than) or 他越来越高 (growing). Also avoid 她越来越很漂亮; 很 is not used after 越来越.
शिक्षार्थी 他比我越来越高 लिखकर 比 और 越来越 मिला देते हैं। दोनों में से एक चुनिए: 他比我高 (तुलना) या 他越来越高 (बढ़ता परिवर्तन)। 她越来越很漂亮 भी न लिखें; 越来越 के बाद 很 नहीं आता।
HSK 4 listening describes a trend and asks what is changing. The adjective after 越来越 is the key; the subject may be long, so wait for the marker.
