Sentence Patterns HSK4
越…越… means the more something happens, the more another thing changes. Both halves keep 越, and the second half gives the result.
Sentence Patterns — Word order, 是/有, questions, negation and the 把/被/了/过/着 patterns.
The frame is 越 + A + 越 + B: 你越努力，进步越快。 The more you work hard, the faster you progress. 雨越下越大。 The rain is getting heavier. The subject may appear once or in both halves, but both 越 must stay.
रचना है 越 + A + 越 + B: 你越努力，进步越快। जितना अधिक परिश्रम करोगे, उतनी तेज़ी से प्रगति होगी। 雨越下越大। वर्षा जितनी हो रही है, उतनी तेज़ हो रही है। कर्ता एक बार या दोनों भागों में आ सकता है, पर दोनों 越 रहने चाहिए।
你越努力，进步越快。 雨越下越大。 越学越有意思。 他越想越生气。 这本书越看越好看。
你越努力，进步越快। जितना परिश्रम, उतनी तेज़ प्रगति। 雨越下越大। वर्षा और तेज़ हो रही है। 越学越有意思। जितना सीखते हैं, उतना रोचक लगता है। 他越想越生气। वह जितना सोचता है, उतना क्रोधित होता है। 这本书越看越好看। यह पुस्तक जितनी पढ़ो, उतनी अच्छी लगती है।
Use 越…越… for changes you notice over time: 天越黑，街上的人越少。 The darker it gets, the fewer people are on the street. 他越忙，越没有时间吃饭。 The busier he is, the less time he has to eat.
समय के साथ दिखने वाले परिवर्तनों के लिए 越…越… लगाइए: 天越黑，街上的人越少। जितना अंधेरा बढ़ता है, सड़क पर लोग उतने कम होते हैं। 他越忙，越没有时间吃饭। वह जितना व्यस्त होता है, खाने का समय उतना कम होता है।
Do not drop the second 越: 你越努力，进步快 is incomplete. Do not add 很 after 越: 越很努力 is wrong. Do not confuse 越…越… with 越来越; 越来越 describes one continuing change, while 越…越… links two changes.
दूसरा 越 न छोड़िए: 你越努力，进步快 अधूरा है। 越 के बाद 很 न जोड़िए: 越很努力 ग़लत है। 越…越… को 越来越 से न मिलाइए; 越来越 एक लगातार परिवर्तन बताता है, जबकि 越…越… दो परिवर्तनों को जोड़ता है।
Find the two changes and give each one its own 越. Read the pair as a balance: 越 A，越 B. If you only have one change, use 越来越 instead.
दो परिवर्तन खोजिए और हर एक के साथ 越 लगाइए। युग्म को संतुलन की तरह पढ़िए: 越 A，越 B। यदि केवल एक परिवर्तन है, तो 越来越 लगाइए।
HSK 4 reading often asks what happens when something increases. The second 越 clause is the answer, so read to the end of the sentence.
HSK 4 पठन प्रायः पूछता है कि कुछ बढ़ने पर क्या होता है। दूसरा 越 वाला भाग उत्तर है, इसलिए वाक्य के अंत तक पढ़िए।
