Register shifting is the skill of saying the same thing in the style that fits the listener and the channel. The facts stay fixed while the verbs, connectives and greetings move between spoken and written Mandarin.

Spoken 快要 becomes written 即将; 但是 becomes 然而; 因为 becomes 由于; 所以 becomes 因此; 现在 becomes 目前. The meaning stays the same and the frame changes with the audience.
बोलचाल का 快要 लिखित में 即将 बनता है; 但是 का 然而; 因为 का 由于; 所以 का 因此; 现在 का 目前। अर्थ वही रहता है और ढाँचा सुनने वाले के अनुसार बदलता है।
Spoken to written: 快要 to 即将, 但是 to 然而, 因为 to 由于, 所以 to 因此, 现在 to 目前, 和 to 以及. Change the frame, not the facts, and keep one register throughout the text.
बोलचाल से लिखित: 快要 से 即将, 但是 से 然而, 因为 से 由于, 所以 से 因此, 现在 से 目前, 和 से 以及। ढाँचा बदलिए, तथ्य नहीं, और पूरे पाठ में एक ही शैली रखिए।
口语：会议快要开始了。 书面：会议即将开始。 口语：因为下雨，所以比赛取消了。 书面：由于下雨，比赛因此取消。
बोलचाल: 会议快要开始了। लिखित: 会议即将开始। बोलचाल: 因为下雨，所以比赛取消了। लिखित: 由于下雨，比赛因此取消।
A job application, an email to a teacher and a message to a friend need three different versions of the same news. The skill is to notice the channel before speaking or writing.
नौकरी के आवेदन, शिक्षक को ईमेल और मित्र को संदेश में एक ही समाचार के तीन अलग रूप चाहिए। कौशल यह है कि बोलने या लिखने से पहले माध्यम को पहचानिए।
Half-shifting is worse than not shifting: 兹通知你快点来 mixes a document opening with chat vocabulary. Do not replace every word with a long synonym; clarity still comes first.
आधी शैली बदलना बिना बदले से भी बुरा है: 兹通知你快点来 में दस्तावेज़ की शुरुआत और बोलचाल के शब्द मिल गए हैं। हर शब्द को लंबे पर्याय से न बदलिए; स्पष्टता पहले आती है।
Rewrite one short message three times: to a friend, to a teacher and as a notice. Compare the verbs and connectives, not just the greetings.
एक छोटा संदेश तीन बार लिखिए: मित्र के लिए, शिक्षक के लिए और सूचना के रूप में। केवल अभिवादन नहीं, क्रियाओं और संयोजकों की भी तुलना कीजिए।
